About Regency

Regency Investment Advisors (Regency) is everything you look for in a financial advisory firm.  We are a US Securities and Exchange Commission Registered Investment Adviser, providing portfolio management and financial planning since 1993. We are fee-only, avoiding the conflicts of interests that can exist when advisors take commissions; our fees are simple and transparent. We’re large enough to offer all the services you or your company need, yet small enough to know you personally and give you the time and attention required to help you reach your financial goals.

Regency’s Story

Regency Investment Advisors was started by a local niche bank, Regency Bank, in 1993 to serve the investment advisory needs of its clients. Back then, many banks provided a commission-based broker in the lobby who was affiliated with an outside investment services firm.  Regency Bank decided that the best way to help their customers invest was not by simply selling investment products on commission, but rather by building relationships and finding a way to be on the same side as the investor.  Back then the fee based, Regency model was an emerging concept in Fresno.  Regency spent its first 11 years owned by 3 different banks/holding companies, but with ownership changes becoming a distraction, Regency realized it was in the best interests of its clients to become independently owned.  After a sale in 2004, Regency found itself owned by three of its long-term employees: Daniel Ray, Stephen Guinn and Marci Deck.

At the end of 2013, fellow employee Chris Comstock was invited to become Regency’s fourth principal and another coworker, Judson Myers, became Regency’s fifth principal in 2015.  In 2019, one of Regency’s outside Board members, Robert Longatti, came out of retirement to serve as Regency’s President. Robert Longatti had a long career in banking and, in 1993, was one of decision makers at Regency Bank responsible for establishing Regency Investment Advisors. The Board of Directors consists of Robert, Daniel, Stephen, Marci, Chris and Judson, along with outside member Mark Prendergast, Principal and Director of Tax Strategies for Inspired Financial, LLC.  We believe our experience operating as a subsidiary of publicly traded banks has ingrained in us valuable disciplines that are characteristic of larger firms.  At the same time, our independent structure allows us to be more flexible, responsive and directly accountable to our clients.  In our opinion, this offers our clients the best of both worlds.
